Welcome to our story
Calf Song Ridge Farms is a family business with roots dating back to the late 1800s. The farm’s name is a nod to James Madison Hedgecock, one of our ancestors who raised cattle. In 1893, James wrote a poem in his journal describing a story of the first calf coming to the farm, and the various circumstances that followed. The last word of the poem were “and that is the end of this calf song.”After years of praying and planning, we decided to revive our family history by opening our own cattle operation in 2017. Calf Song Ridge Farms is the perfect name for our new beef endeavor as we brought cattle to our old family farm in Thomasville.
We raise high quality, natural, pasture-fed beef cows, just like our family did more than a century ago. Our cattle are treated with the utmost care and are antibiotic and hormone free. We understand the importance of raising healthy beef to help you raise a healthy family.
